Kędzierzyn-Koźle is a dynamically developing centre of rich industrial traditions.

In respect of the area it is the largest city in the Opole region and the second largest city in terms of population.  The city grew based on industry, the history of which dates back to the beginning of the 18th century  and the development of the river transport on the Odra. These factors determined a contemporary image of Kędzierzyn-Koźle where tradition meets innovation creating the possibilities of a very high investment potential.
The companies from the key regional specializations of Opole Voivodship have been running their business in Kędzierzyn-Koźle area. These are chemical plants such as Grupa Azoty ZAK S.A., Brenntag Polska, PCC Synteza and from the machine manufacturing sector  – A. Berger Polska, Famet S.A.. German, Chinese, Dutch, British and Greek investors are present here,  and according to the report of the Polish Business Information Agency , edition 2016/2017, such companies as: Brenntag CEE GmbH (place 23), Komet Urpol (place 119), Magna International Inc. (place 162) were, among others, on the list of the biggest foreign investors in Poland . Technological facilities and modern infrastructure also make other companies, among others from the photography  business such as CeWe Color, Fotojoker or shipyard business such as Damen Shipyards Koźle develop.

The city’s investment efforts were given credit in the report ‘Investment Attractiveness of the Regions in 2017’ prepared by the Warsaw School of Economics for the Polish Business Information Agency.  Kędzierzyn-Koźle was marked with a golden star in the group of municipalities of Opole Voivodship as a municipality of the highest investment attractiveness, next to Opole and Brzeg. The sector of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) supporting the industry is functioning and constantly developing in the city. The sector of services is also thriving. The companies may count on the support of business-related institutions.
A convenient location of the city between Upper and Lower Silesia, the vicinity of A4 motorway and the Polish-Czech border, and a well-developed railway junction as well as a port on the Odra waterway offer a big international sales market.
The Opole region with the voivodships of Silesia and Lower Silesia means access to almost 9 million potential customers and the possibility of various business cooperation forms due to wide industrial specializations in these regions.  The economic potential of Opole Voivodship attracts investors by offering attractive investment areas, developed economic infrastructure, well-qualified staff, and also, resulting from historical and cultural conditions, ethos of work, openness and tolerance.  Food, chemical and construction industries are the sectors of high opportunities in the voivodship.
